No update in 8 months ... and now two in two weeks. The Spryers have arrived

Having spent almost ten months non-stop painting up my 40K Death Guard, I wanted a relatively easy project next. What could be more simple, than a five-man Necromunda Spryer Gang. Please welcome House Sparta

After the death of Rasuack, House Sparta put all their faith in Crusto to be appointed to the table of the High Lords of Necromunda. It was a well planned gamble; the house had hired Delaque agents to gather information, Van Da Saar agents to assassinate candidates - who could pose a threat - and even paid for police protection for their candidate. All of which was done in such a way, that the house could not be suspected in any scandals. It was a well-planned gamble, but it was still a gamble ... and one which didn't pay off due to Crusto's weakness for women. It is rumoured that days before Crusto would have surely been asked to join the table, Esher gangs infiltrated his residence which ended up with him being 'removed' to some dark, deep part of the Underhive. Masara was conveniently appointed instead; which raised the power of the Esher gang who was rumoured to have captured Crusto. On the planet of Necromunda, rumour might as well be fact.

The House of Sparta was rumoured to have supported Crusto in his quest for power so, naturally, the house has been quietly banished to the outer parts of the Underhive though, not destroyed as nothing could be proved. The House still lives a life in relative comfort but, they still yearn for power. Their only hope is to send their own sons into the Underhive to find Crusto so that he can reveal Masaka's underhand plan for power. Everyone on Necromunda knows that everyone is underhand; the only important thing is ... that it has to be proved!

Stories of Spryers are told by parents to scare their children to prevent them from misbehaving. Spryers are feared and have the very best weapons and armour from the top of the Spryer. I therefore wanted to paint my spryers as bright as they could possibly be. I couldn't really picture these 'rich boys' sculking around in the dark depths blending in. I believe that they want their victims to know that they are there ... they want their victims to be petrified even before the first shot has been fired.
