WW2 - Canadian Army

When I was deciding which World War 2 army I wanted to collect I new I wanted an 'allies' army rather than an 'Axis' one. However everyone does Brits and Americans; I wanted to be different, I wanted to chosen a nationality that had been there from the start, that had fought side by side with Britain from the very beginning with little thanks or mention. I decided that the Canadians were the army for me; having fought with Great Britain from the beginning in World War 2 and 1 ... I felt honoured in away, to be playing an army from a nation that have shown Great Britain such support.

However I new I couldn't really do them justice on the painting table, therefore I commissioned a friend of mine to paint this army for me ... and what a great job he did (please click on the thumbnail below to start a side show).



In the army there is:

1x Headquarters team
3x Full strength rifle platoons
1x half strength rifle platoon
1x full strength anti-tank platoon (consisting of 6 pdr's)
1x half strength mortar platoon
1x Anti-aircraft section
1x full strength Tank platoon (consisting of Sherman V's)
2x half strength Recce platoons (consisting of Otter 1 light recce cars)
1x 4 gun royal artillery battery
