AI - How to paint a Barracuda
A friend and I have been playing alot of Aeronautica Imperialis recently. He is collecting an Imperial fleet (rubbish fleet needing no skill to win) whereas I have been collecting a Tau Cadre (brillant fleet needing superior skill and tactics to win the day). I've been painting my fleet for a couple of months now and I thought I would post a guide on how I paint my Barracuda's (the main aircraft of the Tau Cadre).
Stage One: Undercoat the model with Chaos Black
Stage Three: This is the really long stage; picking out every panel and raised area with Vomit Brown. This stage took forever!
Stage Four: After that next I picked out some of the detail by applying a thicker coat of Scorched Brown and highlighted it with a mix of Scorched Brown and Bleached Bone. I also highlighted some areas of the Vomit Brown with a mix of Vomit Brown and Bleached Bone.
Stage Five: Finally I painted the main weapons Chaos Black with a Chaos Black Ink wash to make them shine a little. I also added some insignia using Bleached Bone.
